Italian Military Put In Charge Of Cannabis Cultivation
The La Stampa newspaper reported that the Italian Ministries of Health and Defense have reached an agreement to put the Italian military in charge of cannabis cultivation operations to meet the country’s need to produce medicine for the treatment of pain and other medical conditions.
A military pharmaceutical plant in Florence that currently produces drugs for Italy’s armed forces, as well as other products for the market including cosmetics and spirits, is to take care of the strictly-controlled production of cannabis.
The Italian government is expected to make a formal announcement by the end of September.
