Haleh Amini, 47, a Surrey nursing instructor, has been awarded $6,500 to pay for costs of a medical marijuana program to deal with injuries she suffered in a motor vehicle accident.

A specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation strongly recommended she be put on the medical marijuana program to treat her neck, shoulder, upper back, and headache pain  in the aftermath of the collision.

A cannabis ointment was recommended by the specialist to be applied daily for six months for pain management.
