A Seattle-based company that makes marijuana-infused drinks and candies has become the first business in Washington approved to make edible pot products for the state’s newly opened stores.

Db3 Inc., which will trade under the brand name Zoots, and will  manufacturer cannabis-infused baked goods, chews, energy drinks and drink additives out of a 25,000 square-foot Seattle facility. The edible products could make it onto store shelves as early as late next month.

Db3 will be the first company to make it past a long list of new rules for edible marijuana products after the state last month issued emergency regulations to discourage youth use and advise companies about appropriate serving sizes for the products.

The company will offer seven products at first, which could appear in retail stores in late August.
