The Canadian website Lift, an online hub that provides patient-sourced information about the medical marijuana program, is offering a year’s supply of medical marijuana as part of an awareness campaign.

Although having a prescription for medical marijuana is not a prerequisite for entering  The ‘Get Happy Canada’ contest, the winner will need to obtain a prescription from a doctor and order from a licensed producer. Lift will not be supplying medical marijuana directly but will cover the cost of their marijuana for one year (1 gram per day).

A spokesperson for Lift stated the following: “Many Canadians who suffer from debilitating medical conditions are not aware of the benefits of medical marijuana or how to access Health Canada’s new medical marijuana program. Furthermore, not all patients can afford the medicine that they need. So we launched the Get Happy Canada contest to help one lucky Canadian while raising awareness about Canada’s new program and how it can benefit patients.”

The contest ends July 18, 2014.
