In response to Canada’s new medical marijuana rules that eliminates home growing by patients and requires that medical cannabis be purchased by licensed providers,  CanvasRx has launched what it is calling “the first comprehensive database for medical marijuana today”.

With no cost to patients or doctors, the new database matches marijuana strains to symptoms, and connects patients with licensed cannabis producers.

“CanvasRx operates much like an online marijuana pharmacy,” said co-founder Ronan Levy. But “because pharmacies in Canada cannot carry marijuana and the dispensary model is prohibited by the regulations, we step in to fill the knowledge gap by providing patients and doctors with the information and resources they need to best utilize this treatment option.”

Patients can now research which exact strain best suits their symptoms, and download a medical document to bring to their doctor and then mail to the licensed marijuana producer. Once the marijuana producer verifies the patient’s information, they can ship the cannabis directly to the patient via the Canadian mail.
